Well i collected the new bike from the dealer on thursday morning and simply rode it back to work and then home again, but friday i set off to Barmouth which is on the far side of Wales, i have never on any bike ridden for 2 hours in one go, usually after an hour one knee hurts but there was i pulling into a layby for a cup of tea with my mates feeling relaxed and comfortable, a big plus. Managing to get all the way on a tankful of fuel was also a bonus.

Saturday the heavens opened and we did a 130 mile rideout, the GTR handled everything mother naturs could chuck, with the screen up i was only a little wet and the bike performed as people had told me it would, spot on, never uncomfortable and never in trouble on those twisty roads.

Today rode home in the sun, even better, little squirt to 5k revs, never made the engine labour or thrash it and i felt like a king on his horse, but there is one hassle i shall have to fix and thats the wobbly topbox, my mate following said it was off putting, my glasses inside the box fall out of there case and it was a chaotic mess inside, the side panniers were perfect but that topbox has to be sorted, i have read somewhere that its the mounting plate on the bike, does anybody have a fix for this which may or may not incluse nuts and bolts?

Overall, i wish i had purchased a GTR four years ago when i got my first of two Sprint ST's, a totally awesome bike and now sat in the garage having been washed and polished back to new.

You might want to look at importing Phils rack from America.

I guess its early days yet, but did you feel any vibrations? At 4k revs the speedo should be showing around 90mph which is more than enough for the break in period.

Glad to read that you had such an enjoyable day out ... The chaps that followed me in France said it looked a little wobbly but I certainly didn't feel anything or have any worries over it but it has been discussed here previously  :D

Phils rack looks interesting, i shall remove my topbox and let our engineers here take a look and see what can be done.

As for the 4k revs i felt no vibration and as you say at just over 90mph breaks the law anyways, shame i had to take it to 5.5k then on one nice bit of downhill road.

Took over an hour to clean properly afterwards back to showroom condition but i even enjoyed this.
