Getting the PTT button on the handlebar?

I am in the process of fitting my autocom system to the bikeand i cant work out how to get the PTT button to the LH handlebar, i have got it up to the side of the tank but cant see how to get it the last few inckes without removing something to release the fairing?

I dont want to bust it for sure, any idea's?

Ducati owner now but I used to have a Black one, the fastest version.
Previous, Sprint ST (2), VFR 800, Fireblade's (4) SP1, VTR1000, GPZ900, CB250, BSA Bantam D14/4, Suzuki TS100, SX200.

I managed to get mine on ok, when I get home later today I'll post some pics of how I did mine. Is it just the routing of the cabling that's causing you problems?

Sure is, got it from the rear spanner box to the tank and there it stops.
