Hello all!

My name is Jamie, I'm 52 and live in New Brighton on the Wirral.
I have recently had to send my old Triumph Trophy 1200 to the scrapyard in the sky.
I now have a 2013 GTR1400 with only 11K miles on it and can't wait to make the most of it.

I forgot to remove the U-Lock on the back wheel and have damaged the valve stem at the outer most tip,
does anyone know if these are easily replaced?

Boomer

The valve stem is part of the Tyre Pressure Monitoring Sensor so you may need to get a second hand one to plunder the valve stem section from. Not sure if they are separate on the 2013 sensors though. Hopefully someone else can say if the valve stem can be replaced on the later model TPMS. Yours will be like the one on the right. The left one is an 08/09 sensor. https://forum.concours.org/index.php?attachments/20131118_143934_resized-jpg.7310/

Thanks for your response Boomer,
Would the old style sensors work with the newer machines, if so that would be a much cheaper option.
Alternatively, I will remove the sensor and have a standard valve fitted, I haven't used one for the last 30 years, so won't really miss it anyway.

welcome along Jamie, enjoy your GTR

Welcome Jamie, I hope you get it sorted out soon.

On the ZGGTR forum they have found a way of replacing the TPMS sensors with much cheaper ones.
You need a programmer ($45) and the sensors ($30 each) and you can swap them out.

I haven't done it as on the 08/09 sensors you can just change the battery.
Do make sure that the sensors you get can do 433Mhz as that it what is used in UK/EU bikes.

I removed mine as the batteries had died. I now have normal valves in.
