Hi all,
I haven't posted for a while. Been busy with other things but still using the GTR1400 and loving it, hope you all are still ?

Anyhow, one of my fork seals decided to leak, so being a tight yorkshireman, I decided to remove the fork and "have a go" myself. I've discovered that you need to make a suitable tool to pull down the plastic tube and reveal a nut (done that). I have aslo discovered that I'm ham fisted and can't install a new seal without ruining it !! (or having the correct equipment)

I ordered an adjustable tool from fleabay and it has been lost by Royal snail. So I'm in the process of getting a refund.

So Amazon to the rescue, but it's not arriving until mid-next week, to my work address. Is there anyone local to Middlesbrough who has one I could borrow for this job, or come round and show me how to do it ?

Hope it's not too cheeky with being off the forum for so long !

Hi Mick, I use plastic drainpipe slit up the side with a saw so it expands to the right size for the fork leg.
It works perfectly as a seal driver and does not scratch the stanchion.
As an economical geordie I also appreciate that it is dirt cheap.
I've not been riding lately due to a stroke and now a Bell's palsy but I'll be out there soon.
Might even get that coffee in Middleton Teesdale eh?

Bob you are a star.
I bought one of these

Then cut it in half, cleaned the cuts up and indeed, Robert is your father's brother.
Just under £2

The fork is back in the bike. I've road tested it and it's still dry, result.
