we have a nearly 15 year old Alsatian, a good companion to say the least, took her out yesterday for a walk & she collapsed, (fell to the ground) got an appointment at the vet's this morning at 11.30am, she can't stand up & her eye's are rolling, i think it's time to let her go, we have another dog who is so close to her, it's unbelievable. i've alway's had a dog, it's gut wrenching when they go, she will surely be missed.

This is a desperately difficult situation Tapps, we have been there with our past dogs so know just how you are feeling

I hope all goes well at the vets,

It's always about the dog and what is best for it....good luck...thinking of you

It's a real wrench losing a furry friend but 15 years for an Alsatian is exceptional.
She's had a good long loved life and has given her all to her pack.
They live on in your memories.

Just an update on the dog, she had a couple of stroke's, her left hand side has been affected & the eye's are unstable, the vet gave her a 50/50 chance that she may recover from it, we are not totally giving up on her as of yet !!!!! will give her a few day's then go from there, the main thing is she is not in pain.

Thanks for the update.....I hope she recovers

Best of luck, one gets so attached to our animals.

just a quick update, she has made a full recovery after the stroke, she may be a little slower than normal, we can live with that, she's a fighter for sure.
