Murph

Hi everyone. Just a few words to introduce myself. I bought an 07 plate GTR last October from someone who was on this forum. I've only really got round to seriously using it this year although I have been dipping in here now and then for hints n tips. I had a GTR 1000 A1 on an E plate from about 05 to 15 and couldn't really fault it so I kinda feel I'm back there again. That bike only left here due to too many bikes.
I live in Glasgow and I passed my bike test in 77, I'm that old! and I've had loads of bikes since, way too many to list.
When I got this 1400 it was due the dreaded "valve service" so I got that done. I took the lowering dogbones off as I don't need them, put the standard screen on instead of the see through barn door that was there before' fitted some Michelin Road 5s and just last week I got the Mountain Runner Premium ecu flash from Michael Cox.
I'm loving this bike now and can't see me parting with it!
This is a great forum and I hope to be posting more often now I've got a little more time.

Welcome to the forum, I'm sure you'll continue to enjoy the GTR. Although many of us have moved on to other makes/models the GTR still holds fond memories for us.

The forum isn't as busy as it used to be but rest assured if you have any questions there's always someone who can assist.

And a very warm welcome along from me too, like Lonewolf says some of us have changed our riding choice, but the venerable  GTR still holds a special place in or hearts.....so if you have any questions then just ask and someone will be along to help or advise

Welcome Murph, always good to have some new blood in the forum (even if the "new blood" is of a certain vintage  )

Welcome. I also have an 2007 registered model so one of the first made. I took the previous owner's bar risers off after a couple of months cos my other bike's a Blackbird and the risers made my GTR just too upright from what I'm used to. Mine has Top Sellerie dual gel seat, Kaiko throttle control bought from a member here and Remus pipe. I've also fitted slightly higher screen as I'm 6' and heated grips but otherwise it's fairly standard. Why mess with something that's great to begin with.
I passed my test in 1976- like most on here I'm an old fart so you'll feel at home.
