the current silence on here is positively deafening.

So for starters I'll tell you that I have an appointment with an Osteopathic consultant tomorrow, the plan is to get a new hip to replace the knackered one that I'm currently dragging around with me

It's been really bloody painful for months and months, so fingers crossed for a painless biking future

Rog, I don't think you'll actually get the hip replacement tomorrow.  You might have to go back at a later date to collect it.

You must keep us updated Roger. We do a bit of doggy walking for a lady who had a hip replacement on the Wednesday morning ... sent her home Thursday night ! We had the dogs for a week and she is ok but its a big job so take care  !

Latest update is

Went to BMI Healthcare in Lancaster yesterday for a consultation, without going into too much detail they were pretty useless...nuff said     

So have another appointment booked at Spire Healthcare Blackpool (where I should've gone in the first place ) for Friday

These people sound to be very organised and indicate that they can deal with my issue in 6 weeks rather than the 4 months I was quoted yesterday

Good news Roger. Some time ago now but my daughter had some proper big back / spinal surgery at Spire Southampton and they were hyper efficient and it was 5*.. so it should have been for what they charged !

Nigel, my dealings with Spire Healthcare at Blackpool has, so far, been restricted to a phone call and a couple of e-mails, I can confirm that their level of professionalism has/is outstandingly good, so your 5* rating seems to be accurate to me.

I reckon my stay may be like a short 5* holiday

Today's meeting with a specialist consultant at Spire Healthcare Fylde, was amazingly good

Extremely professional and most impressive

The big bonus is I don't have to wait a projected 3 - 6 months.....in fact I'm booked in on 7th December this year
