After much thought decided to swap my Kawasaki H2 SX SE for a more comfortable tourer. "not as nimble as I use to be" they say.. better the devil you know.. well with that in mind decided to go back to the dark side..  I've had 2 B.M.W'S R1200 GS'S in the past found them to be a excellent allrounder. so did a deal and traded my 2020 Kawasaki H2 SX SE for a 2021 B.M.W R1250 GS TE triple black..  so after a few hours in my man cave fitting a few nice accessories.. Rad guards/headlight guard/ spotlight guards/akrapovic exhaust/frame boot guards/fenda extenda/mud slinger/side stand big foot/nav 6 sun shade/TFT sun shade/tank bag/ hand guard extenders /triple black wording and colour coded tank and side tank protectors.. roll on the first 600 miles!
getting on now...  but not as old as Rog or Geoff

You made a good choice but then you already know that.  :mfr_lol:

People may knock them but it's usually the case that they haven't even tried them. The 1250 is quite a sporty machine as is the 1200 to be honest, either is ample good enough to put a smile on your face and guarantee an enjoyable ride out.

P.S. when you sell it in a few months, can I have your exhaust please :whistling:

The early GS was a bit agricultural when compared to some Kawasaki's, I owned this one back in 2010

The latest GS's are poles apart from the one I owned

I'm wondering whether Asif should change the name of this forum to The Bavarian Beast's  :whistling:

There were a couple of Kawasaki riders turned up to the recent 'GTR' meet but basically anything goes now, a bike is a bike.

I know he's already had the 1st service done so he's obviously been out riding it more than I have mine.

I'm down in Warwickshire at the moment at the Adventure Bike Rider Festival, I think this is the first time I've been out on the bike since returning from haggis country.

Back in 2011, I owned a GS 1200,I quite liked it despite its somewhat agricultural nature, I had bought it in P/X for a troublesome K 1300 GT EE I owned at the time. (much of which I have already detailed on here in the past).

Since those days I have owned mainly Kawasaki bikes, and they have been good.

Recent health issues (also mentioned by me on this forum) pushed me towards a lighter bike and I 'ended up' with a Honda CB 500 X which although quite a capable little bike was dull and boring with what I considered to be 'Flintstone' type  suspension, it had to go

What I needed was a lower more manageable bike, considerable research led me towards a Low chassis/suspension R 1250 GS as a possible option, this bike whilst somewhat heavier than I would have liked carries its weight low (Boxer engine configuration).

It just so happened that a suitable bike a 2020 R 1250 GS TE was sitting in a local dealer about 20 miles away, it also featured a low seat as well as a considerable amount of other accessories

Long story short, I tried the bike  and was very impressed with it. I purchased the bike and P/Xd my little CBX 500.

I hope the new to me bike will bring me some pleasure for as long as I am able to manage riding it. I must add that the quality of build and riding enjoyment it provides is outstanding....here it is

Another ex GTR owner on the 'Dark Side'....it doesn't make me a bad person

Well it does make you a bad person, a very bad person!  :mfr_lol:

Asif is now going to have to think very seriously about rehosting this forum as a GS forum to cater for the majority.

It looks very nice and hopefully Dave and I will have a catch up with you in person on Monday.
