Bradford has a bad rep for people's inability to drive competently, but I want to take issue with that.

I saw this unfold directly in front of me the other day and I was very impressed especially with their courtesy towards other drivers in helping to reduce the queue of traffic.

What do you think?

There should be an enforcement site you can upload that sort of stuff to. I must admit there's not enough hours in the day to download the stuff I see daily. In 45 years commercial driving I've never had a UK driver ask me to back his truck onto a loading bay. I'd have to take my socks off to count the number of EU drivers in the last 5 years that have waved there truck keys at me saying "You do, You do". Not saying the fiesta driver was an EU driver, but driving standards have gone to pot. I've met amazon drivers the wrong side of the road on blind bends. Had me nose cut off by drivers turning right across me into side roads thinking they've got priority. It's gonna be a dangerous place when we finally get out to play.

West Yorkshire where I live and other Police Forces on the whole now have an online portal system where you can upload traffic violations for the so called 'experts' to review the footage and consider whether prosecution is appropriate. Here in West York's the system was previously hit and miss, you'd drop a memory stick off with the help desk staff and they'd lose it. You'd try to email the video file in but because a lot of dash cam footage is high definition or 4k the security measures would block it because the file was too large. It was a farce.

I've had examples where I've submitted footage before and it's been deemed not to be worthy of pursuing and not classed as dangerous. I have disagreed and then dealt with it myself and got matters to Court resulting in prosecutions. I can't do that any longer since I retired but as a former traffic Officer I'd like to think I knew the threshold for what constituted dangerous driving. Trouble is a lot of Cops especially where I worked were lazy and simply couldn't be bothered.

Would that be due to the 'paperwork' involved Steve ..... I'm not suggesting that's a valid excuse BTW

In Sussex we have "Op Crackdown" ... you can either send them clips like that and or stick it on You Tube and let them know about it. Recently we have introduced NICE .. a system from the USA where I can send a one time use link to your mobile or E mail and you send it back just like a Whatsapp message .. even I can use it  So it stops all this putting it on disc or dropping it off at the nick and getting lost business. It is very good and the unit that deals has a very good uptake in prosecutions. Shame that doesn't happen where you are.

I think it was more to do with a lack of knowledge and I can't be bothered learning approach. Traffic files are probably one of the easiest files to submit. In the good old days when I was God I mean a traffic Officer  :innocent: we'd come in an hour before the end of shift and rattle off our traffic files and still be able to get a flyer. They really were that easy to do.  :mfr_lol:

:agree:    West Yorkshire are not one of the most forward thinking Forces unfortunately.

The driving standards over the years are deteriorating badly. I am sure they never took the same test as I did in 75 😱.
Us bus/coach drivers have a bad reputation I admit some are  :censored: lol 😂 not me I'm perfect  :whistling: but some of the driving we witness and conditions of vehicles amazes me. When I was in my twenties you wouldn't even drive down the road if a light was out for the fear of being pulled.

I once had one of my Sgts trying to chastise me for faulting a car with a defective headlight on a night shift, claiming 'we' were exempt from such offences and I shouldn't have faulted it and just carried on using it.

I recall as I walked out of his Office while he was still jabbering on at me, calling him something in hindsight perhaps I shouldn't have.

It's what happens when people are brought up to believe that they are special, and must always get what they want. They have no consideration for anyone else because to them nobody else matters, only them. You can see them everywhere and they come in all colour and creeds.
