Steve, do you know that the BMW warranty can be extended on an annual basis through BMW themselves, and is very comprehensive?

I still have my 2010 K1300GT under warranty, including recovery to the dealer and delivery afterward if required. The dealer takes care of everything, I only need to let them know of the problem. If it is covered (there seem to be few exclusions) even "wear and tear" is included, if a part fails prematurely!

I've had new throttle bodies fitted, handlebar switchgear both sides, coil packs and more with no quibble. The only refusal to date was for a fractured weld on an exhaust header pipe, at around 45,000 miles.

There is, I believe a limit of 80,000 miles when taking out the warranty, and 100,000 miles in total.

Whilst not cheap, compared with extending the warranty on any quality car, it is, to my mind a real bargain.

Have you considered buying one? See if you can get a low chassis model with the low seat option, have you checked out any local dealers like Penrith Motorcycles?
