After selling the gtr i fancied a zzr so got a gen 1 zzr  .plenty fast and felt a lot lighter but soon realised that it was very uncomfortable to ride for any length of time so px it for a new versy 1000 this bike even after only 50miles feels so light and flickable made the zzr feel like a barge and it has cruise as standard but no heated grips full luggage and hand guards for less than 10k should make a great 2 up tourer . Will run it in this weekend then get it serviced and then give it some revs . Any one thinking of one of these i can recommend it so far am well pleased got it in orange so it goes with my 2 ktm's  the future bright the futures orange  :biker3:

I'm guessing that you have purchased a new Versys 1000 ? which model is it ? if it has cruise control I would have thought it would be the GT SE maybe?  in which case I think it should have heated grips which are controlled by a small push button on the left side handle bar grip

I have had a 'few' GTRs and have recently had to give up my 2019 Versys 1000 due to ill health

The Versys 1000 is a VERY competent all round bike which is plenty powerful enough for most folk, has luggage carrying capacity and is extremely comfortable for both rider and pillion

Enjoy your new bike    :biker3:
