In the UK a few inches of snow can cause everything to grind to a halt, however in Newfoundland, Canada, even at -40 degrees, life just rolls on........https://imgur.com/r/gifs/UYmCVwS

Showing my age here, I remember the winter of 1963 here in the south.  When we opened the front door on the first morning there was a drift about 5ft up the door that cracked ominously and started to moved towards the hall.  Quickly slammed the door shut!  We were the only house in the road with mains water as my Dad had got up every hour during the provious night to run the cold tap.  I remember watching him do it.  very sluggish at first, but the water eventually flowed each time and saved a big plumber's bill

Bloody snow and ice started on Boxing Day and didn't clear until early March
