MAY TRIP CANCELLED DUE TO COVID 19

NEW DATES ARE THURSDAY 16TH JULY TO MONDAY 20TH JULY INCLUSIVE.

                 VENUE NOW CHANGED TO......https://tyndrumlodges.co.uk

The official venue is https://www.muthuhotels.com/ben-doran-hotel/en/index.html Tyndrum, approximately 30 miles South of Glencoe.

However as and when that hotel gets booked up and it will as it is a very popular venue there is other accommodation close by, i.e. http://thetyndruminn.co.uk and many other places. If you are seriously interested however I would book at the earliest opportunity as many of the lodgings in Scotland rapidly get booked up well in advance.

The itinerary is simple on these meets as there isn't one really!  You can basically do what you choose, go off and explore on your own if that's what you prefer, or alternatively have a ride out as a group. For anyone who has never visited Scotland, (shame on you),  :mfr_lol: then this is a perfect opportunity to have a wee introduction to the beauty which it offers in abundance.  :biker3:

This will be fun ... as Steve says a good chance just to meet up, chat, go out and ride if you fancy, go far or stay near .. you don't even have to stay overnight, just pop up and say hello
Mr Google maps tells me from the sunny Worthing on the souffff coast its just over 1000 miles there and back .. without the daily rides
So come on .. get it in the diary now and see some of that beautiful Scottish scenery.

I'd like to join this Steve and, at the moment, my wife is also a likely candidate (although she needs to decide whether 421miles each way is manageable for her).

We do have to consider a visit from her old school friend though, who is coming over from Japan during April or May, and so will need to establish which month it is to be. Meanwhile, I'll book the hotel for us both and if necessary, cancel later.

We will travel up on Thursday and leave on Tuesday, to avoid the Bank Holiday traffic as far as is possible!

Lonewolf

Colin that's great, looking forward to seeing you again. Would it be feasible for your wife to fly into Glasgow Airport and you pick her up from there to minimise any discomfort from a long bike ride?

flatfour

That is a thought Steve, although it would need to be Edinburgh from here, Glasgow would mean a trip to Stansted or Luton, some 70 miles in the wrong direction.

I think that my wife will probably decide to make the trip (she did survive a journey of 350 miles or more when we went to Scotland this year, and had not been any real distance before that) although I might need to factor in an overnight in at least one direction.

I will (subject to your agreement) ask my Brother if he wants to come, he now lives in Dornoch and travelled down for this year's trip? He does though have a Triumph Twin at the moment, although I understand that it is up for change soon!

That sounds brilliant 700 miles round trip 👍
I will be pushing for these holiday dates for next year I will confirm ASAP.

If you even have a slight desire to go I would be booking your accommodation now. They offer two price structures, one includes no cancellation fee up to 48hrs before arrival. This area is the gateway to the Scottish Highlands and accommodation in most places in Scotland rapidly gets snapped up these days.

 just booked for those dates.. "the wolf" is correct.. dose not matter what your steed is.. ie.. gtr/bmw/ktm/suzuki. or POGO STICK .. just a few ride outs/beer/food and some bollocks talk.. I will be on my all time favorite steed the 2019 zzr1400 performance sport

I really have no idea what you mean, it never rains in Scotland!  :whistling:

Oh well, thwarted again :( A trip to Scotland never seems to drop right for me.

15-31/05 has been set aside for my Euorpen excursion next year.

Enjoy the meet and the roads guys - we can swap photos in June.

Pete.
