Well I knew eventually I would be appearing here.
Traded in the GTR last week, having signed my soul away for a BMW.
Not the predictable model one might expect, I've bought a F850GS.
I only ride solo now, so the GTR was a bit OTT but I needed a large frame bike.
Versys of both sizes were OK, Vstrom was a bit 'meh' and the BMW F800GT was a bit bit cramped for me [ we have two on our blood bike fleet]

Test rode a 1250GS and a S1000XR, both good bikes but the smaller 850 did everything I wanted.
So let the back slapping/slagging off commence

No slagging from me, the 850GS has a good following and approving write ups.. if it suits you and meets your needs then it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks..

Ride safe and enjoy..... I hope you wont desert the forum, maybe post some pics

 That looks like a nimble little beast.

Enjoy your new bike, a lot more manageable than the GTR.

Well Done Mr Doebag .. that looks really nice and as others have said it gets very good reviews. Let us all know how you get on with it. I absolutely loved my GTR which is why I bought it in the first place but there are SO many good bikes out there now its hard to hang on to them without being tempted away .. I was and I am very happy with my GSA.

Well three months in to the ownership and some things in the bike world never change.
Aftermarket sat-nav mount - Check [ BMW one fouls a large tank bag ]
Aftermarket screen - Check [ BMW one is fine at normal road speeds, a bit larger needed for motorway cruising ]
Aftermarket rear hugger fitted - Check [ Back of bike filthy without one ]

Still making me grin when I ride it, not so much when I clean it, I forgot how dirty unfaired bikes could get.

Happy New Year to you all.

Glad you're still enjoying it. I always found my GS a bit fiddly when cleaning it. I was always rapping my knuckles on the engine bars and other areas when I was trying to get in to all the nooks and crannies. No longer a problem with the K1600

Iv had over 50 bikes from starting on a suzuki AP50 and lots of times have said im not selling this one ,but as time goes on and newer bikes come out so i change ,but enjoying the bike at the time , one bike never does everything even if it comes close just ride em and  enjoy while you can ,they are all great , well apart from harlys ,😂
