So I came to the point where I was thinking the GTR is a big heavy old lump and started to look at alternatives. Dismissed all Boxers after umpteen test rides but really fell for the S1000R, but not the price nor the dealers. Tried Triumph range, V4 Hondas of various types and eventually came close to a T120 when the local dealer offered me £4,900 px for my 30k, 2009 tidy GTR. Then I looked at my sons SV650 and thought that will do. Keep the GTR and find a nice SV for a price that allowed me to keep the GTR and have a second bike for less than the price to swap. So the wife is happy that we still have the touring capability of the GTR and I am happy with a 2004 SV650s to go off on my own when I feel the need, and it is something I can happily play with and maintain myself. Must admit I was tempted with the Versys and the SX but the financial outlay is just too much for a new toy.
So now I have sort of ventured to a darker side by buying a Suzuki but I did have one before I was converted to the amazing. yes amazing GTR which is better than anything else I have ever ridden (except perhaps the S1000R that the wife thinks is pig ugly).

Good fortune has allowed me to own quite a few older/classic bikes over the past few years until health issues intervened

The need for another bike in my Rev Shed has never really left me.

So, recently I bought something to add to the superb 2019 Versys 1000 SE GT that I have in the shed

And this has now arrived

I have the good fortune to have options, I have the GTR for long distance touring with the wife but also have a Suzuki GSX S1000 for when I'm on my own, I did go to Europe on it last month and covered 2300 miles while away. Works well for one person.

Love the ZRX.  Had 2 1200s, an 1100 and a 400.  That's a nice late ELR
