i use a peugeot diesel 308 to get to works 90 mile round trip, after 8 years of ownership it's finally given up the ghost,on the M27 west bound it died on me, it's covered just under 173,000 mile's, the water pump seized which which destroyed the cam belt, valve's and piston's mullered, :oops:i've been using my kwaka GTR1400 to get to and from work for the past few day's, if i carried on,i'd possibly lose my licence as you all no it want's to get a shift on!!!!,i pooped in to the peugeot dealer's where it was dropped off by the AA,they called me yesterday to advise me that it may cost £2000 plus to repair it, i called in there this morning, got myself a 17 plate diesel peugeot 308 with all the bell's & whistle's 88 mile's to the gallon i'll have some of that, they gave me a fair price for the knackered one, all's looking good-looking forward to getting my replacement car.

I've had diesels for a good few years now, as long as they remain available I'll continue to buy them as the mileage they return is double what I used to get out of the petrol equivalent.

What's this thing called "work" of which you speak?

Either way it's best not serviced by a French thing.
Ducati owner now but I used to have a Black one, the fastest version.
Previous, Sprint ST (2), VFR 800, Fireblade's (4) SP1, VTR1000, GPZ900, CB250, BSA Bantam D14/4, Suzuki TS100, SX200.

I have always found French cars to be good. Some are made in Coventry I believe. I think that is in England. Do the French own Vauxhall now as well?

Diesel is the fuel of SATAN!  :mfr_lol:
Only ever had one diesel car, S320CDI Merc.
Most unreliable POS I have ever owned.
Over 2 seconds of turbo lag pulling away from stationary.

Don't give a  :shit: about MPG, gonna keep my 4.3 V8 280bhp 25Mpg Lexus until it dissolves.
Wafty silent comfort that transforms to a snarling beast at the push of a pedal.
Entertaining in the twisties too, for a 2 ton land-barge.

Only 173,000 miles? Surely it was worth a warranty claim?
