Drained and replaced over the weekend, I think the recommended interval is 15-16k miles? - Mine's done just over 18k

Thick greyish-silver sludge where the oil should be, now nice and clean oil.

Probably a placebo effect, but seem to be getting slightly better MPG now?

I used to change mine every 4K when I serviced the bike, for the little amount of oil it takes it was worth it.

And don't overfill.
Ducati owner now but I used to have a Black one, the fastest version.
Previous, Sprint ST (2), VFR 800, Fireblade's (4) SP1, VTR1000, GPZ900, CB250, BSA Bantam D14/4, Suzuki TS100, SX200.

+1.  If it runs out you got way too much in there.  Probably within a 1/4 inch or so and you're fine.

Only the electronic one.

Which I find difficult to navigate.

I use the Mobil1 synthetic 75w-90.  Have been for 10 years now.  Change it at every oil change.
