Hi gents had a reply from hilltop mc about the remap and there saying best to remove the flies first,so is there anyone near to wolverhampton that has done this and would be willing to lend a hand cheers rick

BigAlan

I had my remap done by Geoff at Hilltop and he never said for me to remove the flies, I have to say it was an excellent improvement making the bike lots smoother.
Ducati owner now but I used to have a Black one, the fastest version.
Previous, Sprint ST (2), VFR 800, Fireblade's (4) SP1, VTR1000, GPZ900, CB250, BSA Bantam D14/4, Suzuki TS100, SX200.

Hi do you have the before and after dyno print outs ,and does it affect the traction control cheers rrick

BigAlan

I don't I sold the bike to tartan jock on here a year ago but I remember the torque was up to 101lbs fi and the HP was up to just under 150BHP at the rear wheel, but the best bit was the smoothness of the acceleration was heaps better, so much so it could wisely become a license loser.

If I find the paper work I will post it, I seem to remember I did this before so will look.

See attached, as Bigalan says, so much smoother especially two up as I (we)usually am (are).
Not being Peter Hickman quite fast enough before the remap, just wanted to take off the throttle snatch.
Bit of an odd bloke at BSD but he did a good job, only mods affecting remap were K&N filter and Delkevic pipe.
I don't see why the traction control would be affected or am I missing something?
when all else fails read the manual

Looking at your graph he doesn't seem to have found you much more torque and thats what im after low down torque as to traction control it was something i read on a yank forum saying its linked to the secondary butterflies and if you remove them it doesn't work correctly. I have asked a few more questions about the remap but hilltop never seem to return all questions answered

If you want more down low torque, mid range torque and a bit more power up top with a standard muffler or after market  slip on without removing the secondary flies and still keep all traction control and ECO modes, if yours is a late model that is, go to this web link:

Mountain Runner ECU flash is the answer.
How do I know,I have the Mountain Runner ECU upgrade, awesome.

Allowing for calibration difference between the actual dynos the results / gains are not a million miles away from each other. I'm still not sure what you hope to accomplish, if you want smooth running, get a reflash, it's not as marked as it would be on a cruder bike like a guzzi but I don't regret having it done. Interestingly enough following the comment about getting a slip on pipe the only hardware mod BDS did was to cut the closed internal end off the exhaust baffle.

Well where do i start lol ,got there at 10 bike straight in and tank off flies came out no problem and very easy job to do so.so before dyno run ,bike put back together and put on dyno about half hour and map load and ready for run ,now the crap bit this is what they told me ,the latest abs traction control cannot be turned off so the bike when on the dyno will see the front wheel is not moving and only rev to 7500 rpm and they know of know way round it at the moment ,so figures max torque at 6500 rpm 96 ma x bhp at 7500 134 , not a smile on my face jef assures me it should be around 175 bhp at the wheel  if it would rev out and a bit more torque ,went out for a spin came back not that impressed a bit better so payed the bill and came home by the time i had done about 30 miles or so bike was getting better and better and when i got home there seemed a big change now feels much better revs faster and pulls stronger .jeff told me not to fit a kn filter as the oil coats the sensor in the air box and cause, s problems so left out ,so there you have it much better
