Fitted Tyre pressure sensor batteries at long last.

I have had the low battery warning for the tyre pressure sensors intermittently for over a year now (mainly in cold weather). Then the front one stopped all together.

Due to health reasons, it is time to let my fantastic GTR go to a new owner, and it is only fair that it should be fully working, so I have replaced both batteries on the sensors. Having watched several You Tube vids on the subject, I opted for soldering standard CR2032 batteries direct with short  leads. I discovered that it was possible to solder onto the battery case without damaging it. In the process I did kill one new battery by heating it too much, and learnt that three seconds contact with the soldering iron was enough to get a good joint without damage.

Road test complete, and all is fine. Next job is to put the bike back to near standard, so there my be a few bits up for grabs soon, if the new owner is not interested.

It's always sad to hear that health issues force the sale of a bike ...I hope that you are able to continue biking with, perhaps, something lighter and more manageable

Good luck

It is a shame because I love this bike to bits, and it has served me well over the years, but I looked back and over the last three years it has only covered 1000 miles, and with the health and age against me I think the big bike days are over. If things improve for me I will look at getting something a bit smaller and lighter.
