Well just got back from the tt and phoned local dealer to book in ,can,t get me in for a month and as the bike has now done 800 miles not to ride it and the warranty may be void as im over the 600 mile limit ,what do you think guys

Hmm.
Should have booked it a while ago, dealers are busy at this time of year
30% over the mileage is a bit much
Void the warranty, not sure, read the small print.
I don't think even a first service needs to be done by the selling dealer. As long as the garage is VAT registered and they use Kawasaki parts.
I'm guessing the first service cost was covered in the selling price of the bike.
1st service is not much more than a oil and filter change, and a check of all fastenings etc.

If you are really worried then just change the oil  & filter yourself.... no harm done

Hi Lloyd,
Something in the recesses of my early onset dementia tells me something along the lines of the servicer must be Kawasaki trained, else warranty issues. So Tech. training more important than garage.
I would book with main dealer then look elsewhere, if you get lucky and can get it done quicker elsewhere (kawasaki trained privatier) take it, and cancel main dealer.

As NG says has to be a workshop recognised by Kawasaki to keep the warranty valid. I think mine was nearer 800m when it got a first service, couldn't be helped, the dealer didn't comment.
I'm due for the 7500m service soon, as I've no work at the moment looks like I'll let the warranty go and change the oils (if you do it yourself don't forget the bevel) and filter myself. I'll leave the plugs until 25k miles when they may need a change.
One reason I bought a Kwack was for the build quality, I haven't been disappointed so I'm not overly concerned about losing the warranty.
when all else fails read the manual

I don't use dealers for any servicing and have never had an issue with any warranty work.

Use a genuine Kawasaki filter and oil that meets the correct spec and you are covered.
Dealers/manufacturers can no longer insist or force you to use their service by threatening to void a warranty. The law has changed regarding this mistreatment by dealers/manufacturers etc.

Keep receipts as proof of correct parts and you can do the work yourself if you have the skill/knowledge.

Under UK law they cannot deny warranty claims based on requiring dealer service.
You can DIY so long as you keep dated receipts for the parts.

+1  Buy genuine filter and sump washer and do it yourself.  My local dealer confirmed that its Ok

I didn't know that, found this;-
European Block Exemption rules mean manufacturers can't invalidate your guarantee for not using a franchised dealer – as long as the garage follows the maker's service schedule and uses original equipment parts. However, everything must be documented for proof – even down to the grade of oil which was used
