On the hot days that are few and far between, today being one of them the heat generated and blown towards my nether regions is unbearable to the point that I'm thinking of selling in favour of something a little cooler! Any advice would be great fully received.

I take it that you have a pre 2010 model?

The heat only bothers me when at a standstill. I think if you take off the vent fairing panel there will be less heat aimed towards your legs.

NB wotz dif between pre an post 2010 models ?? vent angles or better cooling

Lonewolf

As NB says if you take off the vent fairing it will allow the air to flow more outwards rather than back towards the rider. It is designed to be taken off permanently if you so choose, there are some spare bolts secured to the rear of it to account for the shorter length.

2010 onwards don't push too much heat to the rider. Better ventilation design

My 2011 model has no issue whatsoever with dumping heat onto the rider, bigger and better designed slats on the side fairing , plus the gaps between the fairing and engine are now neatly blocked off with shaped rubber grommits, plus a stainless cover over the exhaust pipe has completely solved the problem.Well done Kawasaki, evolution at work me thinks. My advice would be either live with it on the 6 days a year that it becomes a problem, or if funds allow buy a new one.    cheers Geoff ;D
What would you rather be   or a wasp?

Rusty

I have to say that Geoff has a point ... have you considered just riding in your pants ?

Kevin

I had the same problem with the first model. On a trip down in Southern Spain my legs got quite red from the heat. NOW they tell me there's a panel that can be taken off!  ::) ;D

The newer one seems much better but we haven't been back to Spain with it yet.

Kevin
I'm old enough to know better but don't

I thought , but no dount am totally wrong, that if the vent panels are removed it gets more heat on your legs... intended for winter????

nogoslow

I thought the same as Patrick, panel off for more warmth in winter. No probs with heat on my 09 after an 8 hour  ride  last saturday. i just removed the thermal winter liner from my trousers job done.

fatharry

I've never really struggled with the heat from my 09 ..... i mean i know its there and i can feel it......but its not uncomfortable in any way ;D
It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

Kwikasfuki

I only find it uncomfortable on a very hot day, and only at standstill.
