Design flaws

Was just thinking,having been to japan and knowing how anal they are about everything having to be right,how is it there are so many design flaws on our bikes.
The tyre valve cant be accessed without 90degree adapters,the cam position sensor o rings being too small and leaking on to the headers, the rust prone rear of the tank, the brake discs being made out of chocolate and warping, the ignition switch sticking cos its spring is too small/weak, the windscreen mechanism bracket snapping cos its too thin, the shock adjuster seizing up in no time,condensation inside the clocks,the ever increasing cost of bananas its amazing they still sell.
Yet ironically id never be without mine. How weird is that?

Not weird Mack at all...
Its being called a BIKER ... we love to tinker fiddle tweak fettle an fix .
Also we wouldn't have superb sites like this for referable and banter etc .
Look at WMB. Their strive for perfection like honda have produced some of the most bland and boring machines in history (and they break a shit load more )
Motorcyclists like boring and bland .. BIKERS see imperfections a challenge and charismatic
.
And like kipass  post ..if ya divvent waggle it shuv it in an oot and never give it some lube ... it breaks and goes limp

Back on track, think it's known as built in obsolescence! You can't build something that lasts forever as you'd make no money from service and repairs!
Build the best you can and let the design trainees loose on a few bits for limited lifetime!

If this were a car forum I'd be singing the praises of Volvo.
They rarely get it wrong with design.
And talk about over-engineering! Everything is made to last and last.
It can be done and should be done but in our throw-away culture of today it rarely is done.
But the Volvo isn't as fun to drive as the GTR is to ride, so Kawasaki have got something right.
