does it look cleaner these days  :mfr_lol:
Hi Peter
It has a different top box.
Although I'm after a bigger one now. The Givi 55.
I've set the handle bars back by about an inch.I made up my own plates.
It has an Innovative C3 camera mounted.
And I'm going to change the screen. I'm not happy with the stock screen and the Laminar Lip. It's not doing what I need. My research has swayed me towards the V Stream.
I had a nice 4 day trip to The Somme for the Remembrance day services and visited a few family graves.
The bike went like a dream.
And oh those wonderful French roads!

I took a trip through northern france and stopped at the canadian cemetery near wissant. I find it hard not stopping. Its the least we can do if we get the chance. They went through hell for no good reason and most were kids. Im not a weepy tart but it was hard not to shed a tear when you saw so many and so young it was so unfair.
Sorry went off track there for a mo 😒

RIP all who served or lost their lives

Anyway we won so they were on the winning side at least.

I totally understand after having toured the Somme myself, the memorials and graveyards are very very humbling

Likewise ..stayed for 3 days in Ypres .. and the hotelier was chairman of the local war history and preservation society.
Learned a HELL of a lot from that fella ..stuff the history books don't tell ya .
Visited the huge German war graves and it was just as humbling and sad .
Over the gate (it may have been at the rear of the cemetry) was the inscription
In life we were enemy's . In death we are friends ........
History is usually written by the victory ... and the Germans also was some Mothers son .
Both sides cemetry have a large proportion of
"A SOLDIER OF THE GREAT WAR . ONLY KNOWN UNTO GOD"
Horrendous ! And as a race we keep doing it

I was very moved by the relatively low key appearance of the German cemeteries in comparison to those of the Allies.

But its not about appearance of cemeteries or memorials its about understanding  (or trying to comprehend ) what took place

My journey to find the cemeteries that were the resting place of some relatives took me very much off of the beaten track.
I was riding through small hamlets, down farm tracks and through muddy lanes.
I passed so many smaller cemeteries that I kept thinking to myself, surely there aren't any more! But there were. Everywhere I rode I stumbled upon another and another and another. The little cemeteries are scattered everywhere!
It really knocked me for six! It's quite overwhelming!

O.C ya bang on target (NO pun intended) it is the staggering task of trying to comprehend the amount of slaughter that people struggle with .
It's interesting the way that this mass slaughter is cross generations .. witnessed school parties visiting Ypres  cemetries they would be about 16 yrs old ..and a lot of the kids were coming out in sad tears ..or drained shocked faces .
R.I.P NEVER FORGOTTEN

O.C.

coincidentally I witnessed exactly that reaction myself from school children  outside the museum in Yper, mind you it's an awesome museum. Which I've visited several times.

Personally i think it should be a mandatory part of all school criteria that they visit these and ww2 cemeteries to let them see how much suffering a generation went through to make sure they are now able to enjoy what they do today so freely. It would be an eye opener for so many kids today to see how old the lost generation were. I think the hardest of kids would be woken up for sure during their visit. Jmo ....
