Back on track , went to the NEC today, apart from a very cold ride there and good bike park facilities, not a lot more to say about it.
There was a tour company advertising tours for Route 66, and I had a long chat with a mate who run's a tour company, mainly UK and Europe.

Tours? Plan your own, much more fun, go where you want to go, stop when you want, your choice of accommodation, cheap or a bit more luxurious depending on budget. Why pay someone to do what you can do yourself.
We do the same with holidays, long or short haul, very easy
XJ600, VFR800, CBR1100, Varadero1000, CBR1100, STX1300, GTR1400 ?

Also went today and also looked at the Route 66 Jobbie, not keen on the complete route but perhaps the last 200 miles or so.

Nine of us went and some spent a fortune on stuff, me I kept my wallet in my pocket but liked the bikes I sat on, a mate is biting a new MT10 and I simply can't get my head around that.

One bike I would have if money was no problem.......wait for it.......

Goldwing, I do really love them and can see me gliding down the road sat on it, yes weird I know.

Good day all round tough.
Ducati owner now but I used to have a Black one, the fastest version.
Previous, Sprint ST (2), VFR 800, Fireblade's (4) SP1, VTR1000, GPZ900, CB250, BSA Bantam D14/4, Suzuki TS100, SX200.

Bloody hell  Alan..........you....... a winger....who would have thought it .....not me   :mfr_lol:

But dya know what I think is that its great to hear what bikes we all have a wish for

I'll be looking at the Hondu site to see for myself, however with my advancing years and my need for lighter rather than heavier machines I think a Goldy won't  be for me nowadays.

BE KIND...

I did 2500 miles on a Harley and an Indian but what a relief to get back on a gtr.

See I can still surprise some people, I did show my wife who hates bikes with a vengeance the goldwing and she thought it looked comfortable, no chance of getting her on it though (good) but if the lottery came up, the big red wing would be in the garage.

I wouldn't hesitate taking the trip on a Goldwing.
They are the ultimate long distance cruiser.
Comfortable, quiet, smooth, loads of luggage space, armchair for the pillion. Perfect!
