Now the colder mornings have arrived I'm getting the "Battery Low" warning coming on when I ride off. Cancels after a few minutes, or if I stop and turn off then turn on. Is that normal and just the cold or are the batteries on there way out? 2011 bike. 😨

I suspect the batteries are low, luckily my tyres come off tomorrow and I am going to replace the front battery, unable to change the rear as this is the new sealed type of tps but one is better than none.

Ducati owner now but I used to have a Black one, the fastest version.

So the sealed in the rear, I take it you have to replace the sensor itself?
What type of batteries do they take?

No I had the rear changed under warranty and Kawasaki now put the latest version in and this is what I had to have, the front is the original. If you have the originals usually they have a black dust cap and the new version is taller, I don't have a pic but google it you will see the difference. The originals are easy to change and are a CR 2032 with solder tabs on, I managed to get some from work (now retired) but they should be on eBay I guess.

Cheers, I'll have a look, think mine are the old ones.

No problem with my steel caps but then I don't use Michelin! Could not resist it.

I don't think tyre make has any relevance to valves Pete...however your point is not lost on me   :mfr_lol:

(Local to me) K dealer will charge £100 to change batteries front and rear, is that reasonable?  New TPS front and rear is mega bucks!!!

Hopefully you guys can see this... It shows the difference in the two styles of sensors.

I have exactly the same problem when it gets cold. As a temporary thing you can override the dash TPS display by pressing the two buttons. With the TPS warning on, hold the top button down and depress the lower button. This kills the TPS warning but allows all other displays to function. The red idiot lamp comes on during this process. It all resets when turning the ignition off and on again and the whole process restarts. Mine is a June 2009 bike and is still on the original TPS batteries. Not bad.

Thanks Chris, that's very helpful, I'll give that a try next time.

It's going to get worse until the battery up and dies.  It's not that big of a deal to replace the battery once you have the sensor out and you have the proper battery.

I don't have the facility to remove or replace the tyres, or balance them afterwards.

It's quite easy to remove the wheels from the bike, just a matter of getting to know your local tyre dealer and hopefully they won't charge you the arm and a leg to remove and refit the tyres and balance them afterwards.

Remembering of course when the tyres come off to watch out for the sensors themselves.

Done all this today again.
