I wanted to use my mini compressor with my Z1100 which does not have an accessory socket, but is fitted with a fly lead for the Optimate charger the same as my GTR.
I bought a couple of Optimate connectors off Ebay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Set-Of-Connector-Adapter-Terminal-Socket-For-Optimate-Accumate-Battery-Charger-/291601870602?hash=item43e4d36f0a:g:c1YAAOSw14xWHiWH
Removed the cigarette lighter plug from the compressor power lead and fitted the corresponding half of the Optimate plug.
Just made sure the Optimate fly leads had 10 amp fuses fitted and now good to go on both bikes. No need to worry about having ignition on for the accessory socket to work, or forgetting to upgrade the fuse and blowing it with the compressor.

I'll be updating the fuse on my bike to accommodate my mini compressor

It does not come 'with' the bike, but most people who use an Optimate or similar attach a permanent fly lead to the battery, as the battery is a fiddle to access on a daily basis.
Mine, and all the others I see,  attaches to the battery and the socket emerges from the battery compartment by your right knee [when sitting on the bike]

Battery on my old bike was new about 18 months ago.
