Tank storage/cubby hole

Does anyone know if the tank 'cubby hole' in interchangeable with the later models that have the cubby hole in the fairing ??

Mine just has a cover where on previous models it had been a storage area

It has been covered here I think, or one of the US forums.
Basically yes, but you need the brackets to go with it as the front one where the relays are is a different shape.
I seem to remember the thread had photographs to show the differences.

No they won't fit retrospectively between the different modes. Each has a different mounting bracket and the latter model has a number of relays situated under the cover on a bracket if my memory serves me correctly.

I wouldn't bother. (a) The space you'd gain isn't worth the money/hassle and (b) you'd be limiting yourself in choice of tank-bag system, should you ever decide to get a tank-bag.
