I ride anything that hopefully will put a smile on me face and contentment in the heart!    :whistling:
If it really suits me, I like to own it, that's why no K1600 in the garage, mighty fine machine but soul-less!
Cant agree with original thread content,
As far as I'm concerned:-

B=Beer!

M=Motorcycles

Both me bikes on a run out with me son!

And W = WOMEN!

That's what makes each day worth it, at whatever cost, as long as i'm smiling!       :wink:

Patience is something you admire in the driver behind you and scorn in the one ahead.

:mfr_lol:  Ermm Keith, with the mid range K1600 weighing in a hefty £18,100.00+ and the GTR GT costing £13,699.00   not even I could spend over £4,400.00 on extras

You made me laugh though  :mfr_lol:

[/quote  not even I could spend over £4,400.00 on extras :grin: Hey Rog.. buy a b.m.w and you will have no problem spending over £4,400 on extras that's for sure :laugh:

didn't cost me £1800 . I paid £17300...work out the cost of rider and passenger heated seats ,which are comfortable. work out the cost to have a built in cruise control that works perfectly and not a box stuck on the handlebars that looks like an add on from Halfords work out the cost for the hill assist great bit of kit , work out the price for the electronic suspension adjustment ,work out the price for the built in audio system, then work out the price for the three different power settings ,work out the price for the keyless ignition and remote control locking ,I am sure I have missed somethings ,but cost that on top the retail price of a gtr and it would probably be a lot more than the bm

yes dave I know that as well so did my 2015 zzr 1400 ,only sold it as it was starting to get aches and pains ,saying that if I could find the room I would still have another one as a second bike ,there is a 2012 gen 2  on e bay at present 10000 miles up for £6500 ono,,,,

yeah yeah yeah, Keith and I would expect nothing less than for you to praise the BMW and all its 'features'

I've owned  a lot of Kawasakis over the years and none have ever let me down.......well my H1b blew a oil pump banjo once, oh and my S3a blew a main fuse once, but they were both 1970s bikes. ANd 40 or so years old !

I have owned two BMWs,  a 2010 R1200 GSA, which just wasn't for me, I ended up with it because I wasn't able to p/x the K1300GTEE, fully loaded bike that I owned (and bought new) to anywhere other than a BMW dealership. The K1300 had ESA, cruise control, heated seats, heated grips, etc etc etc., it had a great engine beyond which it was riddled with faults, the final straw was when it cut out in the middle of the road at a very well known biker meeting and fell over  :hammer:   both the dealer and BMW U.K denied all knowledge of any problems,.........I was astonished, as a recall to fix this electrical problem was actioned later.  :yes:

It's a shame that the BMW franchise treat me like   :shit:  and they won't get another chance, once bitten twice shy.

As 2Kwacks says you are on the GTR1400  forum therefore most attempts to promote th BMW product will fall on deaf ears

I have no doubt that the K1600 is a mighty fine bike but wouldn't suit my biking needs. I'm pleased that you are enjoying yours though   :yes:

ROG .

Lonewolf

You can't compare the K1600 power to the output of a  :censored:  ZZR. Totally different beasts.

Keith made some very relevant points about the costings for accessories which are all standard on the K16 but would cost you a bloody fortune to put on the GTR.

If Kawasaki put all those gadgets on their GTR FOC it would be 'possibly' be the ultimate tourer at the price the bike costs.

sorry this is just light hearted banter for me , I am not trying to promote the k16 ,all I am doing is answering the comments that are made about how overpriced the k 1600 is ,then some gtr owners start to put these add ons to there bikes ..I have had numerous Kawasaki's and have never had one even failing to start or had a bulb out .I am not calling the Kawasaki brand ,just justifying the cost  to the gtr if they had the same refinements .  if I had the room there would also  be a Kawasaki in my garage

It's a shame that the BMW franchise treat me like   :shit:  and they won't get another chance, once bitten twice shy.
