Set off this morning and noticed a lack of normal pressure in the clutch lever.  Stopped the bike, nothing obvious and after a few minutes it felt normal again. Got back and had a good look around for leaks etc, again nothing obvious. Just checked it now and lack of pressure is present again. Had to pump the lever to get it back to normal. Fluid change or look for something else? Clutch fluid level is normal.

Could be the rubber seal in the master cylinder needs changing, try a fluid change and bleed first, if  it is still the same then my next move would be a master cylinder seal kit. This is not difficult and a competent DIYer should be able to do this......good luck matey   :biker3:

Blocked return hole in the master cylinder. Wiggle a bit of fine stiff wire in the hole. Can't hurt to change the fluid either.

My clutch lever seems to work in two stages, its smooth but there seems to be a step about two thirds of the way out. Could the master cylinder seals be causing this. I put fresh dot 4 in as soon as I bought the bike but its still the same.

Boomer

More likely a sticking slave cylinder.

Had that happen to me last year and it fixed itself on the way.  Changed out the clutch fluid and it hasn't happened again.  Probably should do every year depending on how many miles you ride it.  Or every 2 no matter what.

Service schedule gives hydraulic fluid change every two years or 15,000 miles.
