Unbelievably I've had the bike a year, I know this cos I've had a road tax reminder. I've not ridden it as much as I should but I love it!!  It still makes me giggle when I wind the throttle open.

Just one small (?) thing Mars the experience, that bloody enormous silencer ( or muffler for our colonial friends ) it's so big and ugly. What I'm looking for is a replacement thT keeps the stealth mode but looks better and would surely weigh a lot less.

So people any recommendations?  Oh not an Akra they're just too much many.

Obviously its an Akra for me, but as you've ruled that off your list I would suggest, Beowulf or maybe Two Brothers

Considered Quill exhaust's? Made in UK, had them on my Blackbird, Pan ST 1300 and now the GTR, (It came with this one fitted).
Do stainless / Carbon etc, nice exhaust's, reliable company.
XJ600, VFR800, CBR1100, Varadero1000, CBR1100, STX1300, GTR1400 ?

PRD

I'm in the minority I like the original exhaust!

Delkevic road legal carbon can on mine... £199 on fleabay and comes complete with everything including the link pipe.....minutes to fit and gives a healthy burble and is not over loud....a lot lighter and gives an extra 3bhp....yeah I know, but every little helps  :mfr_lol:

I'm with you on this one......

viper

on a bike like this and with the panniers i think the original exhaust is best , plus they are much safer if you ever ended up underneath a hot exhaust.
Plenty of after market pipes around but a lot of memeber come on here with running issues as a lot are not compatible and upset the engine slightly,

I have a carbon bewoulf nice sound not loud with the baffle in , best thing to do with the standard thing is let spiders live in it in the loft . :mfr_lol:

Mikey

I like the sound etc just wondered about something smaller and lighter. I've had a look around and think I'll stick with the original.

Ive bought a Scorpion end can, very happy with it, gives the GTR a nice deep sound.

Trevsgtr

Beowulf tri carbon for me , nice n light and a lot smaller , not too loud with baffles in .

For me, 9/10ths of the year Delkevnic 350mm oval fitted!  :punk:
Lets the bike look like a big sportster as it should - with panniers off!
Value for money to, sub £150, nice look, good sound, and dB muter can always come out for ear-to-ear grin.
Can't get me head round the cost of some pipes for little change in power, where's the benifit?
Then for holidays or touring, three bolts, 10 minutes and the originals back on!  :hammer:
Not gonna be a copper magnet in foreign climbs, so standard is the way to go!
Still sounds pretty damn good with the original on, smoooooooooth! :sweet:
So, from me......it's a foot in both camps, and an economical option!  :biker3:
Patience is something you admire in the driver behind you and scorn in the one ahead.
