Hi All

I'm in need of some front pads for my 2010..  they are really quite expensive for EBC HH !

So, anyone tried / have any feedback on the Goldfren HH Sintered version???  they are 1/3rd the cost of EBC !  makes them a worth a thought.
I suppose they all have to pass certain tests and stuff to make them legal or something..
just some feedback on anyone used them would be nice...
cheers

Tried them.  didn't like them.  Lacked the feel and bite, so I went for SBS pads and IMO opinion better than EBC

Tried them didn't like them at all, lasted about 1000 miles before I had enough and chucked them away, got EBC sintered ones, never again will I scrimp on brake pads.

I paid £59.95 inc postage for a set (2 calipers)of front pads. EBC. HH. FA417/4HH from these people. bikespeeduk.com
They had a stand at the last Manchester bike show. They took just a few days to arrive. Personally I would rather spend the little extra and buy proven products especially on brakes.

thanks for the feedback

the cheapest EBC ive seen were £80 or so for a set of full front pads which i thought was horrendous.

Yes, brakes are v V V important but i suppose they all have to pass a test or do something funky to be allowed to be sold !!  ive a week or so till i need to rebuild my wheels after powder coat so i will do more digging...

es they do have to pass a standards test.....BUT.....there are fake pads out there so be careful. Goldfren are ok but they are cheaper for a reason. EBC have the right quantity/quality of ingredients that give optimum retardation without overheating. The cheaper varieties normally have just the required ingredients to get kite marked and they will stop you, but probably not as effectively as the premium or reccommended EBC pads. In my opinion braking and tyres are two areas where you should never compromise,,,,,,Kawasaki has given you an engine that lets you GOGO, so have the very best to help you STOPSTOP

There are 3 brake pad brands I won't buy again.
Ferodo, Goldfren and Armstrong.
The Ferodo HH's were the best of the 3 but replaced after 7k miles with EBC HH's and glad I did.
SBC are also good as are Brembo.

Running goldfren at the moment. Felt good at first but the initial bite has faded, especially at the rear, although that may be partially down to me not using the rear brake as much as I should. They have been on now for a few thousand miles and I'll probably run them until I need a new set as they're not terrible, just ok. Would I buy again though,  probably not.
