Morning all

I have a TomTom rider v3. With the ball mount on the yoke. On my 1st tour I've noted that 99% of the time it's obscured by the sun. I've tried angles. No good.

So, do any of you have yours mounted in the middle somewhere or on the bars?  I can't see how any other fitment is possible on the bars as there is no room for the bracket between the various switch gear etc.

Advice or options greatly appreciated

Hi Stoli
I have mine mounted on the clutch lever clamp.
Ram mount sits over clutch lever clamp and with longer bolts the original clamp stays in place.
Still get a bit of reflection sometimes but with an articulated arm on the ram mount you can tilt it forward and down.
Seen on fleabay they do a canopy that sits over the satnav.
See pic below for mine.

Mine is mounted on lockable motorrad mount fitted to the  Kawasaki OEM mount its raised nicely and locked to prevent the opportunist thief not cheap but I think it's worth it still a bit sun but I listen more than view one thing to remember some of the sun shades you can buy don't fit when in certain mounts.

Also the motorrad mounts are unit specific so check which mount you need

Mine is similar to Pross, a Ram ball attached to a Kawasaki type Sat Nav Mounting (mines ProjektD and is adjustable)

This system means I can attach a 1" Ram ball directly to the mounting and then use a short or medium Ram double socket extension with the Garmin charge mount at the other end.. works fine and I can adjust it through varying angles

Sun on the screen of a sat nav device is a common problem my Garmin 590 is a bit better than previous devices,  I also have one of these fitted, you could try one for yourself as they do help, you will need to choose the correct one for your sat nav device
