Ok few more miles in and here we go.

I find the ride the hard side of firm and on occasions I've been bounced out of the saddle. Are they all like that or have I got to bite the bullet and try adjusting the suspension.

At slow speeds the front feels like it's falling into turns or turning itself, hard to explain what I mean. Tyre pressures are as they should be. Again do they all do that or is it a tyre type thing?

If these are really stupid questions feel free to abuse me

Sounds like you need to adjust suspension. What tyres are you on and how worn. Try Angel Gts or mitchelin pr 3s

Okay, no problem with the question, and there is no bullet biting required, simply adjust the front and rear suspension  to your preference, it may take a few adjustments go get it sorted, tyre pressures, as PRD says depend on what tyres are fitted and your riding style, again try different pressures to settle on what suits you.

Dont forget, any new bike will initially feel odd until you become familiar with the bike.

Don't be frightened of making adjustments and certainly don't be frightened of asking questions

I had exactly the same problem on my old GSX1400, I spent a month slowly adjusting the suspension and once set it was a perfect bike for the 10 years that I owned it.

in general it is the preload to adjust how fast it turns and the compression and damping that is bouncing you out of the saddle (Mostly compression).

cheers.

i had pr4's fitted,i had a strange feeling on them,when i pulled away.ie cold tyre's it felt like i had a flat tyre,i've gone back to pr3's,i will stick with the pr3's.

I find the ride harsh / choppy at times and with the OE tyre found turn in interesting !

Now on T30 Bridgestones..........different bike to ride........in a very good way  :punk:

If you haven't adjusted suspension before, don't adjust too much at once.

The easiest way to start is with the rear preload ..... It's measured in 'clicks', but can sometime be hard to feel the click or knotch.   I would suggest turned the rear preload knob by 1 complete turn (360 degrees) anti-clockwise wise to see how you got on....

Ps.  Potentially, don't forget to turn it back when you have pillion and luggage.... Potentially.  GTR isn't bad at adapting.

Tire pressure - don't go mad, gtr is quite sensitive to changes, not only in feel but electronically as well, drop them below 36 and the computer will start yelling!

Just my 1/2 penny worth.
