I  have just bought one of these tonight and if anyone is interested I will put up some footage.
I drive a fully logo'd vehicle now of a national company and for the second time since xmas someone pulled in front of me on a clear road and slammed on their brakes for no reason at all, yet again i just, and i mean just managed to stop in time, probably another crash for cash scam.
its a fit a forget type that auto turns on and off, loop records in 1080 , date and postcode stamps ect.

I did try a cheapo last month for £15 from BP and took it back the next day !

anyway while in there i noticed that they now do a motorbike one, being fully waterproof. Its a bit pricey at £250 but if you want a fit and forget product there is nothing really else on the market. When we get another bike im having that one too. Im sure it could be fitted somewhere descreet on a fully faired bike

£99

waterproof model

thanks debs thats useful, I think he needs to work on the mounting position. I dont suffer any camera shake with my gopro using similair mounts, however a japanese in line 4 is much smother than a flat  twin ditch pump.

the key is to find a descreet but perment mounting position within the fairing ect

I would rather buy these.. Smaller, Easier to hide and waterproof.

do they auto switch on off and loop record , bit pricey?

Debs that video clip of the stereotypical BMW owner is one which I commented on coincidentally a week ago if you look at the comments on YouTube for it.

Viper, I was looking at those cameras in Halfords and Maplins recently. I would be interested in seeing the quality of the footage as the chap in Halfords claimed the footage was as good as a Go Pro.  If it is I will buy one.

I bought one of these.  It can't be mounted upside down and I've had 2 replaced but others I know haven't had problems. The Ride+ is better but they are both quite cheap and do record on a loop.

Yes they do.

The set up I have works well but the quality of the camera isn't that great. I like the idea that I can forget about it unless I need to view if something was to happen.

The fit and forget aspect is very important. If you have to bolt it on, turn it on, plug it in or have any interaction with it, the day you need it, it won't be working.

I like the look of the 4kam kit linked to. Will have to investigate further. A permanently installed quality camera has got to be better than having to mount/wire up everytime you want to use.

I did have a Drift Ghost but sold it for that very reason STX... Now I have this..

That's a very neat installation  Debs

I've just had an email and the RoadHawk Ride is down to £70.  It's a very cheap solution; I paid £100 for mine reduced from £150 but I think they are clearing the stock.

I have had a few issues with mine but replaced under warranty (twice) so might just be unlucky.

nothing is as good as a gopro, id give this camera a score of 8/10 against a gopro. watch out for what halfords tell you, my salesman told me that they dont have a back up battery...wrong, the files are encypted.....wrong and i would need to purchase a £30 hard wire kit to make it work....wrong.

once its tucked in behind my rear view mirror and wired in correctly it will be fit and forget.
I have however disabled the GPS antenna as it puts the indicated speed on every image, probably will work against me in the event of it being used as evidence. Im sure the opposing insurance company will deem any 34 mph in a 30 mph zone 10 mins before the incident enough to wriggle out of a claim

im happy with it and its superbly reliable
