Strangely enough, I get it. Over there they have a LOT of straight roads, less rain, and their roads are generally more abrasive than ours, so a car tyre with its harder rubber gives vastly better rear tyre mileage and the effect on cornering is less than you'd expect.
Illegal over here but I still wouldn't do it even if it wasn't as that difference in handling feels like going back to Avon Ditchfinders.

Fair point .....not many/enough straight roads here to justify it though, we like the twisties
