Correct, the battery is a CR2032 but it has tabs on it to solder to, it helps if you can solder neatly as I could not find a battery with the solder tags in the same place, but yes new battery and away she goes.

Cheers, got the batts, my local bike garage is doing the exchange for me, I enquired with Kawasaki and they insisted the sensor's had to be changed, and you couldn't just swop the batteries, and it would cost..........£££££££😨

That's Mr K wanting his cash, or rather your cash.

I just did my front one and it's sat on the bench ready to go back in, easy peasy.

Thanks for the info, what I'm doing is making a new support post the tps sensor to take a 90 degree valve mk1 is complete same dimensions as kawasaki except flats on the top to accept a 19mm spanner.

Ive actually been to japan and did a lot of research before i went o and learned a fair bit of japanese too lol. What i learned was how methodical and precise they are as a people. They like to do everyhing correct and this is what facinates me most of all about our bikes. There are so many little niggly bits that dont make sense as design flaws considering its a JAPANESE bike like tyre valves not being ninety degrees n cam position sensor seal being too small n leaking or rust under seat by tank n discs not being up to the job n warping in no time( mine now warped and i am no racer or late braker for sure)  very surprised i have to say. They are a very nice race of people, i found them very polite and a fantastic country to visit i would thouroughly recommend it. 😃👍

Good points mac,  :agree:

But every bike or car or product in general is built to a price, and no matter how small/insignificant a component may seem in the overall scheme of things it still has a cost.

For many years I worked for a major importer/wholesaler of German cars (not BMW)  and can say that their marketing department had a huge influence about specification from the production line and its result on the end product, we used to complain about some elements of vehicle specification, only to be advused that it was "down to cost" !

I do agree that the valve stems on the GTR and many bikes are a royal pain in the  :asshole:  ,  the BMW bikes I owned had valves that were at least accessible.

The amount of stuff written on a regular basis on tps does make me wonder if the hassle is worth it. More stuff to cause problems I feel.

Well I have to agree with prd ( did I really say that ), personally I think tps is a pain had it on my car now gone since putting huge wheels on and removed from my bike at last tyre change . I figure diligent weekly checks and knowing how the vehicle feels in an ok state is enough managed 30 yrs without to much problem.  Have standard 90 degree valves on my bike easy to check and inflate I'm just working on this incase people would like to have ease of use and keep the tps .

I take your point Charlie but having had two punctures (easy now PRD   :mfr_lol:)  I can honestly say that I was very thankful that I got early warning of the deflation because I could not feel anything different with the bikes handling, with the last puncture the pressure was dropping very, very rapidly, I reckon if I hadn't pulled over I would have been fighting a 300+ Kilo machine at 65 mph    the possible consequences don't bear thinking about

Frankly I wouldn't want to be without it now

Well oc leave your wallet at home from now on and itll be a lot lighter to handle  :mfr_lol:
Lol sorry oc   Yep make you right i like knowing pressures are stable n half hours work is worth the effort changing batterys to save all that messing in the garage eh?

I've got used to them on all my vehicles.  My Tacoma has them and one of the first things I check on it is the tire pressure via the screen when starting off for a drive.  I do check pressures but only about once every week.  I like them and will not have a vehicle without them anymore.

I have them on my bike and jeep and would find it hard to be without now after all the years of having them
