Hi Everyone

I'm new to the GTR and would be grateful for a quick heads up on how to set up the handling on my 2010 CAF.  It may be my inexperience or poor riding style, but I've noticed that the bike wants to turn in a little to much when cornering, meaning that I'm applying pressure to the bars to track on line through the bend.  Other bikes I've had will track neutrally through a bend once you've tipped it in.

I'm currently running road pilot 3's at 42psi and the standard suspension settings recommended in the manual.  I weigh about 14 stone.

If anyone can suggest a tyre choice, possible suspension settings, tip about my riding style etc., to give me more neutral handling through the bends I'd be really grateful for your experience.
:ohplease:
Thanks!

Mine used to do that with the OE tyres

Now on T30 which has transformed the bike......if anything the steering is to light now

Not tried PR's on it but the team will soon be along and add their 2p's worth  :mfr_lol:

Zeb had his set up for his body weight and said it transformed the bike.  He's a right friendly chap.............give him a PM and have a chat

You can set the static sag youself with help from a friend. Plenty of how-to's on the web.
For a real good setup there are a few places in the UK that do a ride in suspension setup for ya for around £150.
They are the best but you can get close yourself eventually.

Brilliant! thanks for the tips.  I'm definitely going to play around with tyre choices and based on what's been said I've just tried reducing the preload on the rear spring a few clicks which has definitely made it a little better.
Thanks again!

just pin the throttle mid corner the rear will dig in and then you'll hoon around like it's on rails.

i can step mine out in second around a particular 90º corner but the TC kicks in and all is well with the world.

If you find the RP3s turning in to quick for you then you'll not like the RP4s as they have a more pointy profile and will drop in even quicker (that's all relative to a GTR, it's not twitchy like a lively sports bike).

Having said that the RP tyres are an excellent tyre and give superb grip in the wet. The RP4 is better in the wet than the 3 and, again for me, gives more milage.

I've kept both at 42psi.

To much fun........needs reporting to moderator  :mfr_lol:

They do tighten up nice on the throttle..........for a big old bus you can have fun surprising people with its agility
