Back in the mists of time do you remember vinyl singles. I have still got mine from late sixties and seventies. I am ashamed to say the first one I bought was "Sparkys Magic piano"  then I moved on to "I was kaiser bills batman " by whistling jack smith and then "jumping jack flash" by the stones. What was your first single?
BMW = Bring More Wallet

O.C.

Chantilly lace, by Big Bopper who famously died in a plane crash alongside Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens

BTW I have some of my dads old 78s here and they are pre Vinyl

I still have 45s sitting in the shed in boxs of 50s all indexed from the front is numbered sleeves and god knows how many albums and picture discs in the loft some are rare collectables.
Showing our age know can't remember the first purchase I bought that many in a week  :mfr_lol: :mfr_lol:

It didn't help when I had a friend who worked for EMI records who sold me albums for the price of singles and told me about the limited editions

my first single that I bought with my own money was " Mr Blue Sky" by ELO , bought from Andys Records In Ely Cambridgeshire . My First Album was " A night at the opera" . I still listen to these on a regular basis today.

Ive not included the rubbish that some aunty buys you when you were 7 , like pinky and perky play pop, which was speeded up session singers. I had an aunty that used to get me the Top of the Pops albums , you know , always has a semi naked woman on the front

does anyone remember this rubbish

shaggs147

Haha yeah I remember those Viper, now that's what I call music meets page 3. There was a series of albums out like that which were worse though.... the latest hits sung by artists nobody had ever heard of. Anyone remember those?

ive got a cassette recording that I made from the TV in 1977 , elo in concert at  wembley, recorded direct from the mono tv speaker with a microphone plugged into my PYE mono cassette recorder , it was bloody awful quality. However I was the nutz playing it  the next morning on the back seat on the school coach

haha,

ps the same cassette player I used some 10 years later to upload crappy computer games onto my BBC computer
