Mine rattles when you first start it, then quietens down after a couple of minutes.  It's always done it, think its the timing chain adjuster. Is your engine noisy all the time?

it does it more when warm there is another post i have just posted on have a read of it

After the cam chain rattle at first start there should not be any tapping knocking from the bike whilst riding.

If it was from a shop, simply take it back

My GTR was always a little "tappety" when hot, from the time of purchase to the day of sale. I compared it with others and found them similar. The new Versys also exhibits a similar noise at certain rpm.

Neither bike has become worse with mileage, so I'm haven't been concerned. The warranty is plenty long enough for problems to be fixed if they do develop, in my view.

Problems that came up (with the GTR) such as drive shaft failure, were dealt with quickly by the dealer under warranty/extended warranty, so no complaints.
