got a trip up to scotland for a few day's,leaving on sunday,1st stop yorkshire, long story cut short my mate last year was unlucky to get a puncture on our way home from the lake district,he had to be recovered,we never carry anything to get us out of trouble apart from the toolkit supplied with the bike.i have ordered a STOP & GO TUBELESS TYRE PUNCTURE REPAIR PILOT KIT & MINI COMPRESSOR.i tried to use the accessory socket on a mobile phone & a tyre compressor before & it will run for about 1 second then the 5 AMP fuse simply blow's.will it hurt to simply replace the 5amp fuse with a 7.5amp or a 10amp fuse,or will it damage the wiring.i'm awaiting on mr postman to deliver the kit so i can't try it out yet to see if it'll run the compressor.i don't want to carry a foot pump on our trip.

On the early models the circuit was protected by a 10 amp fuse.
Later models use the same feed [but split] to power the heated grips. There for they lowered the fuse rating to  2 x 5 amp

Put a 10 amp in the fuse holder, but make sure the grips are off if using the tyre inflator.. The grips should power down at engine idle anyway, but just be double safe.

hi, we have beat this topic to death in the past so I can give you some good advice along the lines on what everyone else has said.

The wiring will defo take a 10 amp fuse or in other words with a 10 amp fuse as the weakest link the wiring wont burn. The gtr pre 2010 had a 10 amp fuse in there and mother kawa stepped it down but left the cable thickness the same

Ive changed my 5 a fuse to a 10 amp the first day my mini comp blew it out , 5 yrs ago and never been a problem since. I believe the cable is good for 20 amps but don't exceed a 10 amp fuse
