So, from previous post you may have seen that I mounted the Givi Monokey plate straight on top of the Kawasaki carrier.
Seemed OK, had comments from others they had done the same, but on any bump noted a recurring vertical wobble of me box.
So...... in order to save buying the Givi kit (those underarms and drilling out rear fairings!     ) thought I can make summat!
So, armed with some 2mm stainless steel plate, an "Abrasive Jim" cutting disc (he does Midlands Motorcycle shows selling a plethera of sanding / grinding / polishing stuff) in my angle grinder, set about marking out a plate in stainless steel.
Using the removed original as a template, made it about 25mm longer front and back (pic=plate1).
Resulted, after much grinding, cutting, filing, cursing and shaping, in a fitted plate, (pic=plate2)   :hammer:
Lining up the Givi plate in what I thought was the best position for weight / passenger position, drilled and tapped 4x6mm holes (seen in plate2) resulted in Givi plate mounted securely, with nylocks on the Givi fixing plate bolts just in case!
Pics plate3, 4 & 5.
Eureka - no more wobbly box............interpret that as you will!
Works a treat, much happier with fit and security of me Maxia on the back of the bike.
If anyone wants the measurements PM me and I'll pass on.
All I have to do now is get some fake leather and make a tank cover for using me Bagster tank bag!    :undecided:

That looks spot on!  I reckon you could go into limited production now that you have the dimensions etc.  I'd have one at the right price!

Nothing wrong with that mate, sound engineering practice  :winkiss:

Boomer

I did exactly the same years ago with 6mm ally plate instead for my NonFango box.

Thank you 👍 can't believe my luck. I have just registered in the hope of finding a solution for my top box.
