I have to say I stick to " standard unleaded " although, like your self, I have heard that the "super" is much better for the bike although not entirely sure why ... perhaps some of you Tech chaps would care to enlighten us please ???
Vibration through the tank ? No idea !
NB or Mr Wolf will help you with that one, but on a serious note I hope it gets sorted as you don't want to feel uncomfortable when out riding thinking in the back of your mind that something may be wrong. A trip to the dealer ?

There is a big difference in performance whether you choose octane 95 or such. vPower octane 99 - which can be bought here in Denmark - gives a much better performance. When I drive in Germany, so I choose always HighOctan gasoline. You can, for example. buy octane 100 or 105 (racing) for both Shell and Aral - and I must tell you, this makes a big difference .....

I fill up with the higher octane on my bike. Why? Dunno, just habit really. As long as there's no pinking you're ok.

As for the vibration, check the torque of the tank mounting bolts.

I suspect you'll get more power, Tesco 99 has been reviewed;

Depends how much money you have to buy (more) expensive fuel  :)

I've always run all my cars and bikes on normal unleaded....apart from my Mondeo, that would be daft because its a diesel.  ;D

As for the vibration, exactly as NB has said, the most onbvious thing to check would be the two bolts just slightly under the seat. I dont know what the torque should be, I just tighten them till they feel sufficiently tight and I cant say I have ever experienced any vibration through the tank on my thighs......unfortunately :(

;D ;D

Petrol is petrol though the Ron does vary. I make the stuff for a living, the same petrol goes into road tankers from; tesco, morrisons, shell, bp, Asda and Texaco the only difference is the additives they squirt into it.

Most modern fuel injected systems use a knock sensor.
If you use higher octane fuel you will get slightly more power as the engine management will be able to adjust the ignition timing to suit.
Is the increase worth the extra 5p per litre?
That's up to you and your wallet.

I find that 135Bhp at the rear wheel is more than adequate and I don't think I'd notice the power increase of 2 to 5 Bhp.
