Hi Guys,

My Mate and I recently made a 7,000km++ Trip from Singapore to North of Laos, Boten - China Border and back. On the leg back to Singapore through Thailand, appox 2000km away, my rear TPS failed and keep showing "LOW BATT".

Upon reaching back, I send my dear Connie to my workshop for servicing and got my mechanic to try to replace the rear Battery. While we knew that the places we rode is very dusty and dry... we were surprise at the amount of fine sand and mini pebbles that cross three countries with me BIKE.. .Ha..ha.ha....

Here are the fotos...

Rear wheel being remove to have the TPS inspected and the battery was replaced instead of a costly Factory replacement.

The rear final drive was covered with super fine sand! A lot more spill off the rear Rim, which he did had a chance to take photo of.

After cleaning up all the goo, dust, fine sand...

Re greasing of the final gear...

Out comes the Airfilter... again.. fine dust like sand started to spill over...

Foto taken from where the air filter sits... terrible. ..

Foto taken from the from one of the front facing RAM AIR Intake. Look at the amount of sand!

That's concerning, at least your mechanic seems to know what they are doing and are looking after your bike well.

PS, I'd love to see some of your photos from that trip.

Note to self...stay away from sand dunes and beaches.
