Hi everyone. im seriously considering the dual exhaust mod using a zx 1400 header.my question is this.the header i have is from a 2006 zx and has no cats or lambda sensors.is it ok to remove the 02 sensors? i see on fleabay an o2 eliminator kit for the gtr that has some blurb attached saying it is beneficial in performance terms.im not too concerned about performance gains im doing the mod for appearance,i just like duals on the gtr.Im just wondering is it ok to remove the sensors.
many thanks in advance.
if i double what my speedo says im still as fast as i used to be.

Why would you do that ??????? it'll ruin the looks as well as all the other hassle and expense you'll go through, most zzr users (myself included) change the end cans for something smaller and not so ugly, personally mate I'd either stick with the gtr in standard form or buy a zzr.

One other point, how do you know that the l/h/s exhaust will clear the shaft drive ?  another reason not to do it.

Just my two penneth worth.

You can remove the sensors and use the O2 sensor eliminators. You will need to fabricate a bracket for the left side of the headers and for the left silencer. Otherwise they fit fine and look good with aftermarket silencers. See the COG-Online forum for pics and how-to's.
No I haven't done mine but did consider it a while back.
That said keep the OEM headers as the Govt may bring in exhaust tests for bikes at MOT time in the future.

Thanks for the reply Boomer.I also found the limk didnt work.
im glad i can remove the o2 sensors safely.im a step nearer to doing this i just won a pair of cans and link pipes for a zzr1400 on fleabay today. So by the weekend i will be cosidering removing all the plastics.i just want to check on Monday that alocal company that does dyno tuning and remaps can reprogramme my ecu.i want to make sure the fuelling is ok.they are also agents for pc's but i dont want to fit one as thats another bunch of money and as i understand it it doesnt address the opening of the flies.

Hi Everyone heres an update. all done and fitted.it was a mare of a job and whilst i was in there i discovered a leaky cam sensor o ring. got that changed also. for the bigger size o ring and hopefully cured that.heres a pic (hopefully ) after test ride then a thorough rinse down as there was salt on the roads.well worth the effort though sounds sweet looks awesome.
thanks to the forum for all the info.

I do like them, i like things to be symetrical and one exhaust each side fits my idea of a nice bike, but i also like the Beawolf on one side as i have now, and am not gonig to go to the lengths to put twin pipes on.

But i do like it, well done.
