If anyone is into carbon fibre in a big way I found a company who will do custom carbon fibre work and I have added a few pics of their work, you either love it or hate it. I think its ok in moderation.......

I'm thinking some of it could be a bit OTT :-\

Lonewolf

ok, so nobody likes carbon fibre then :o

Kwikasfuki

Its ok in moderation. I prefer to ride my bike that spend ages looking it good and cleaning in everyday

My bike gets washed twice in the year - if its lucky

Thats a joke.........right?

Can't believe anyone would wash their bike a couple of times a year. After a weekend of riding, I wash the bike immediately. And then get the detailing brush out. And wash again. And wax ...

So far this year its just had its first wash. It'll probably have another one November and then again in Feb. So its probably more like 3 washes per year  ;D

Don't forget, I ride pretty much all year around, baring snow and icy conditions. It would make sense if I did clean more often, but my view is treat the bike with some FS 365 from scotoliler and leave it. A couple times a week I'll spray it on and jobs done. No washing, just riding  ;D

Right, time to go and see if I can get a decent JIS #2 screwdriver so I can take those damn flies out.

A bit OTT for all the plastic, however I like the glove compartment pan being carbon covered, it probably strengthen the cheap plastic it is made out of.
Lonewolf, do you send your part in? Do you have price info?

Lonewolf

Yes, you must send your part in or you could source a spare when off ebay and send that one in of course, so that you didnt have to stop riding. This is their web site address.   http://customhydrographics.com/

I know they charge $95us to carbon fibre a hugger but I dont know what their other prices are, sorry. Have a look at some of the patterns they do.

Rusty

Like everything else ... it all comes down to personal preference. I like the carbon hugger .. looks great, but is it robust enough ? I know there are lots on the market out there but yes .. that does look cool !

Rusty

Lonewolf .... you are kidding me ?? 3 times a year ? Thats' amazing ! ... still, if the bike goes as it should then that,s down to the build quality so thumbs up for Kawasaki ! I know a chap who had a Fireblade many years ago and just put oil in it and new pads etc BUT NEVER HAD it serviced and it went on for years and years ...

Mr Rusty, my apologies, Lord Rusty, it is not I who washes my steed only three times a year it is Norman Bates. I can spend longer cleaning it sometimes than I spend riding it.   :)

Rusty

Sorry old bean ... getting you mixed up like that ... it.s my age ... now where was I ????????

Kwikasfuki

I was looking at my wheels yesterday and they are really filthy. I might spend some time this weekend giving them a good clean and polish. Only reason I'm doing it is because the Kawasaki dealer told me it costs £200 to get them powder coated again.

I must admit I do keep on top of cleaning the bike, it's little things like neglecting the wheels which speaks volumes when you come to sell or trade in. In due course I will p.x my bike for a newer model but it will see me in good stead for a couple of years yet. When I do px I want to get top price and that's where the regular cleaning comes in.
