Some but not me now have moaned about a snatchy throttle response, well over on the concours site in the USA a guy posted the following and others have said it works, basically it's the. Throttle Position Sensor calibration.

Sure sounds like the TPS.

No idea, none whatsoever if this will work, but I would try it if for nothing else curiosity.  Turn the bike on, do not start it.  Twist the throttle on full, roll off full, do it twice.  Turn off bike, turn back on and start.  Go for a ride and see if it works.

I have just doe it on my bike while cleaning it but not been out yet, so if anyone has a bit of a snatchy throttle try it and let us know.

Sounds like an old wives tale, but if it does work, how bizarre would that be?  :mfr_lol:

This routine was specified for my Bmw k1200 after disconnecting the battery. I don't know whether it worked, however I always did it and had no poor running in five years of ownership.

He's got a YouTube video of the procedure

I'll be doing it on mine next week

TPS ?  how would the tyres be linked to this problem?

Try it, i used my bike for work today and the last mile into Oxford is a pain in the rear as its 30 mph or less all the way in traffic, i did this "adjustment" and i can honestly say the bike was a smooth as ever, better than i remember three weeks ago when i last used it for work.

Hmm seems to work for me.

Alan, did you do the adjustment with the bike hot or cold?

Cold, turned ign on, NOT START, round to full throttle twice, turn ign off, then started it and rode off.

Hi guys....

I've been out to try this, first doing a run and warming up the bike, so I could make a comparison.....   I believe this works, particularly from a closed to open throttle, like when you pull up at a set of traffic lights that turn green, or slow 90 degree turns, when you should be getting back on the throttle to pull away....  It's still not perfect, but it's certainly better!   :-)

I tried this again this morning before leaving for work with the bike cold.

I think this just does more than reset the Throttle Position Sensor.  But the bike is certainly a lot smoother....

Nice find and I recommend everyone do it, even if it doesn't do anything, for a 1 min non-intrusive job, what have you got to loose?
