There is not much room on motorbikes these days to package an intercooler, and you would need intercooling to get big power from a 600/750 engine, so I am guessing 800/900cc-ish supercharged low boost engine instead of the normally aspirated 1,400cc motor the ZZR/GTR has these days.

Supercharger will help get round the need for bigger and bigger airboxes these days, and will help boost the low to mid range torque that us road riders need if we are honest with ourselves  :mfr_lol:

A direct drive supercharger with some sort of clutch mechanism also means you get medium engine economy/emissions, good for us owners and needed for the no doubt future legislation.

New technology (for a motorbike) like this is often best released in the expensive, range topping, halo models and the ZZR/GTR both need a refresh.

I am hoping for this engine in a revised ZZR/GTR, 200bhp in the ZZR and 170bhp in the GTR.

I can dream

The motor was revealed earlier this year.
It's a supercharged ZX10 motor so 1000cc.

Chances are it will be used to produce the same power with less emissions rather than an increase on the already silly powers produced at the top end of the bike ranges.
Motor could be used in GTR/ZZR replacements, all Kawasaki's many 1000cc bikes and even some smaller ones, just by changing the mapping.
Euro 4 is coming and as K have discovered, it's cheaper to produce 1 motor in several different guises, than several different motors.

The latest clip

http://www.ninja-h2.com/video.html

The bike shown in the last few seconds of that clip certainly looks more ZX10R than ZZR1400. Very intriguing. The 10R really does not need more power, as you say, and fitting a supercharger would make it ineligible for racing.

Even more confused now.

I haver to say though that this teaser video approach is working. I don't even know what they are selling, yet I want one  :mfr_lol:

just cant see the engine being as big as a 1000, its the smaller engines that would benefit from this and fit into the whole eco flavour
