Am I right in thinking that if you slacken off the two fixing bolts in the left switch gear you should be able to move it away from the grips a tad? Only reason I ask is that I tried this and it seems pretty hard and fast. Could be that its just "stuck" and needs a push but I didn't want to cause any damage if there is something else that I should be looking at. I just need to move it a few mm's to the right to so that I can fit in a plate to accomodate a metal bracket to mount a PTT switch on.

If I can get the left heated grip off without damaging it that would be great otherwise I'll have to work around it but the plan is to make a bracket just large enough for the PTT switch to be fixed to. Going to drill a hole through the plate, large enough to accomodate the diameter of the bars and then slide the bracket over and wedge it between the end of the left grip and the switchgear, I think that should be secure enough. Then I can mount the PTT onto the plate. The PTT is it would appear designed to be fixed to the grips with cable ties which looks a bit messy and unprofessional.

I know a good idea when I see it ;D

I copied drew inspiration from Winstons method of mounting his PTT switch and did something similiar. I'm quite happy with it. The PTT switch is secure and ideally situated to reach it with your thumb. Cheap and cheerful but functional.  ;D

I have a template of the mount if anyone wants me to e-mail it or something to them.
