Book review: Motorcycle journeys through the alps & beyond.

I bought this book on Ebay for £16 and found it to be the perfect support in my alp-touring  travel planning . A very comprehensive travel guide indeed.
It's the fifth edition, released December 2013 so it's up to date. The book is paper back and consists  of 400 pages covering the alp region of Switzerland, Italy, Germany, France, Austria, Spain, Slovenia and Corsica.
John Hermann made up 89 trip suggestions with detailed routes, topographic map and  great pictures.
Each trip starts with a description with distance, terrain and highlights/POI
Example:

TRIP1 Furka, Grimsel, Susten

Distance: About 120 kilometer from Andermatt
Terrain: Steep twisting climbs into glacier worlds, three steep twisting descents, plus the narrow Schollenen gorge, mostly modern highway, some tunnels.
Highlights:  Rhone glacier, Aarenschlucht water storm, favorite motorcycle cafes, Sherlock Holmes site, devil's bridge and stone, autobahn tunnel entrance, *Furka Pass (2,431 meters),*Grimsel Pass (2,165 meters) * Susten Pass (2,224 meters), the Schollenen Gorge, Oberaare road,  Goscheneralp road.

My verdict of this book:   5 out of 5.
