What a lovely day way down here in the South .... TOO nice to be inside... so after completing my chores ( cleaning the BBQ after last night ) a bit of dog walking and putting the washing out it was time to get the bike out and go ... not far but just go !
Arundel Castle is only a few miles away and is very popular with the holiday makers ( especially the Yanks ..as there is loads of history ) It is very picturesque , so I took the camera to share it with you all ... It is the seat to The Duke of Norfolk and has been around for hundreds of years.
A 20 minute ride and I found my self at the front gate ....
There were clear blue skies and the Union Jack was flying ....

Just along from here is a path with a small river running down to a boating lake, ducks and all ....

This is just very scenic and we used to come here with the children many years ago when they were small and I had hair ... so it IS a long time ago ! Nothing has changed  ...

Then from the boating lake back along the path into the centre of town and up the hill to the top of the Castle itself.....
And then some of this .....

Round the back roads and you will find plenty of little shops and cake pantries and of course a decent pub ...

No alcohol for me on the bike so just along the road from here I had Tea and Tiffin before making my way back home, cross country. I think I timed it just right as its all clouding over at the moment. Nice to have time off in the week to get these little trips done and although its Easter holidays and the schools have broken up it wasn't too busy.
Over the summer I shall go further afield and pick out several places in Sussex so you get a fair idea of what it's like down here !!!

Great little write up there, Rusty. I think thats the first time I've seen a proper pic of your bike. Dont you run with the panniers on?
We had a decent run out yesterday but today has been drizzle on and off throughout the day, glad I made the most of it yesterday.

Looking forward to more stories & pics in the near future.  ;D

Today I took off all 3 boxes to see what it looked like ... a bit naked I thought but hey ho next time I shall make sure they are back on just for you ! On a day to day basis I usually run with just the top box as its massive and easier in London traffic.
Blessed with great weather today .. clouded over when I got home and I thought it was all going to change but it just blew over and got better.

I dont think the bike looks complete without the panniers.

Lovely British racing green. I agree, the bike need panniers. Just doesn't look right without

I laugh myself silly at all the bikers trying to filter round the M25 with their panniers on.  ;D
Get out of my way you stupid eeeeediots! ;)

I prefer the looks of the 1400GTR without the panniers.  8)
But she looks ok with them on too.  :P

Unlike the ST1300 which is bland looking with the panniers on,.....and AWESOMELY UGLY AS SIN without the panniers.
If anyone finds a pic online, please don't post it here as I would like to keep my lunch down.  :o

Now that i've changed my exhaust i think she looks good without panniers, prior to Beowulf, she did look a bit lobsided not by no means is she fugly ::)

If i'm on a commute, them i'm with Boomer, and no panniers...they just slow you down!

As for the ST1300 without panniers...it just looks like some-one has nicked some parts off it  :P
It's not a case of whether we can fix it or not - it's more a case of how fixed would you like it?

Rusty

Ok Ok ... next time I shall ride out the garage WITH panniers !
